Visit at Guangyuan Vocational School and more

·292 words·2 mins

Last Friday (March 25th) we went to Guangyuan (广元) to visit their Vocational High School.

The purpose of this trip was to review and discuss English teaching methods. For that we took part in a lesson held by one of their English teachers. More information about this can be found hereand here.

After that we were invited for lunch in a very fancy restaurant, where we have been welcomed to Guangyuan by their principal and teachers.

The next stop was the temple in 广元, that is dedicated to the only female Empress of China – Wu Zetian (武则天). The Huangze Temple (皇泽寺) has been constructed on a mountain, as a result many statues and stairs are directly carved into the rock. (For further information see Wikipedia and ChinaCulture.org)

Then we proceeded to Jianmenguan (剑门关) but sadly we could not go to the top of the mountain, because the cable car was broken. We finalized the day with a delicious tofu dinner.
